Dr. Tasneem Peeraully
Assistant Professor Director of the Center for Movement Disorders and Neurorestoration

Dr. Tasneem Peeraully joined the Department of Neurology and Neurosciences and the Neurological Institute of New jersey in September 2013. She complete her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience as well as her medical degree from the University of London . Dr. Peeraully completed her Medical Internship at Flushing Hospital in Queens, NY and her Neurology training at JFK Hospital in Edison, New Jersey. After completing her residency, she spent a year obtaining advanced training in Movement Disorders a the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore followed by an additional year as the Movement disorder Fellow at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles, CA.


Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of Movement Disorders conditions, Dr. Peerually serves as part of our Deep Brain Stimulation Team and performs botox injections for neurologic related spasticity. She is available to treat patients with a wide range of pathology including: Parkinson’s Disease, Atypical Parkinsonian Syndromes, Dystonia, Essential Tremor, Tourette’s Syndrome, Gait Disorders, Ataxia, and Hungtinton’s Disease. Dr. Peerually has also been an active researcher with eight publications to her credit and fourteen abstracts presented at regional and national conferences. Dr. Peeraully will be expanding the number of clinical research trials for the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School patient base that will allow us to provide more cutting edge clinical care that is seen in any of the Movement Disorder programs in New Jersey.
